Adele - Chasing Pavements
"Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements...
even if it leads nowhere?
Or would it be a waste even if I knew my place...
Should I leave it there?"
I woke up in an unknown cabin. My head hurts so much. I tried to remember what happened last night. I could recall that I went to the bar and bought some drinks. I know I got drunk last night. But now, I'm wondering where I am. I felt that something's different with me and then I realized I'm wearing a different shirt! It's a guy's shirt for sure! My heart raced fast and many things popped up my head.
"What really happened to me?" I thought.
I looked around and saw breakfast served on the bedside table. And there was a note.
"Good morning! Before you leave my room, make sure to eat your breakfast. I also left the medicine for your hangover. I already brought the keys so you can just lock the door if you leave. I already sent your shirt soaked with sweat to the laundry so you can visit me to get it."
There was no name on the note. Who the hell is this person?!
I stood up and looked around the room to possibly identify the person occupying it. The room was tidy for a man staying in it. There were a laptop, an Ipod and a Beats headset on the couch. I wondered how this person could easily trust a stranger like me that he could just leave these expensive things.
My stomach rumbled. I was hungry. Binge drinking can really cause hypoglycemia and my stomach is starting to complain. I also felt the hangover symptoms starting to come out. I sat on the bed and took the medicine and started eating the breakfast served for me. After finishing my food, I arranged the bed so that this person would not regret of letting me stay in his room. I looked outside the room for room assistance and saw one passed by.
"Excuse me," I called her. She went closer to me and asked for my concern. I led her inside the room and asked her to keep the dishes and she complied. She even cleaned the bedside table. She asked if I still need anything. "It's okay. Thanks alot."
She left the room. I checked the room if I still need to arrange anything. After a few minutes, I decided to left the room. I hurried to my room and lay on my bed. I kept thinking about last night. Everything was blurry. I couldn't remember well what happened after I left the bar and how I ended up in that cabin. I became so frustrated that I fell asleep.
It was about three in the afternoon that I woke up. I took a fast shower and headed to the Windjammer Cafe at deck 11. It was a casual dining hall where one can have a good view of the ocean. The ship was docked at Philipsburg, St. Maarten port so there was not really a nice view but I chose to be there since I wanted to get some snacks and relax a bit. There were a few people as most are in the excursions. I wasted my money not going to my scheduled excursion as a result of my actions. I ordered clubhouse and mango shake. I settled at the table near the corner.
I was still preoccupied on the things that happened last night while I was eating my food. After a couple of minutes, I saw a familiar figure entering the hall. It was Kevin Chang. He saw me immediately and rushed to my direction. He sat across me and smiled.
"I thought you were out. Good to see you here!" he greeted me. I smiled at him. "Are you okay? You don't look well."
"Ah, yeah. I'm fine. I want to ask you something. If it's okay." I wanted to ask if it was him.
"Sure," he replied.
"May I ask where you were last night? I mean, at around ten in the evening?" He appeared shocked by my query.
"Are you investigating me?" he joked. "Well, I was at the Lounge in deck five. Why do you ask?"
"Ah, it's nothing," I lied. His facial expression changed.
"That's not fair. You asked on my whereabouts but you wouldn't give me an explanation why?"
"Sorry. Actually I was looking for a company last night but couldn't find you. You are my only friend here," I lied. He smiled again and moved much closer to me.
"Did you miss me last night?" he teased. I moved back.
"Stop that," I told him. I gave him a piece of my clubhouse and we continued chatting for like an hour. In the middle of our conversation, I remembered the note left by that person for me.
I sent your shirt soaked with sweat to the laundry so you can visit me if you want to get it...
"I can go back to his cabin!" I thought. "Kevin, I'm really sorry but I just remembered that I have to go somewhere."
"Where?" he wondered.
"I can't really explain right now. Thank you for being here. I have to go now. I'll see you later."
I hurriedly left and almost ran to that person's cabin. I planned to go back and thank him for taking care of me when I was wasted. When I was by the door, I stopped and hesitated. I was nervous of seeing that person. After a couple of minutes, I built up all my courage and knocked the door.
I knocked twice. There was silence. I knocked again. Still, no one answered.
"Maybe he has not returned yet," I thought. I turned back and started to walk when I heard the door open. Then, I heard a man's voice.
"You came back," he said. I stopped walking. His voice sounded familiar.
I turned around. I was looking downward so I first saw his feet, then his legs. He was wearing gray boxer shorts. As I moved my gaze up, I saw a half naked body. I was shocked by what I saw so I shifted my gaze towards the floor. This guy, who's face I haven't seen yet, moved towards me.
"Are you okay? Does your head hurt?" he asked.
"Ah, no -" I stopped when I saw this person's face. I was stunned. His face was the least I expected. He looked concerned. He kept looking into my eyes.
He was beautiful. He looked like Lee Donghae.
Yes, it was Donghae...
