I needed this trip. One of my business partners told me about this cruise
and he was able to convince me. Being a businessman is not easy so I always
find time to relax and unwind. I prefer taking trips like this alone. I'm
already 27 years old and I would never get any younger. Marriage is not really
on my priority list. I date girls and have sex with them but I never considered
marrying anyone. I guess that's the reason my mom is already on her hypertensive
maintenance. She's been bugging me on this stuff but I always fail her. I feel
bad for her but it's just me. No one can force me to do anything I don't like.
After approximately 10 snoozes of my alarm, I finally got out of my bed.
Today is the first stop of the 13-Night Transatlantic Cruise and I've chosen
exciting activities in this stop. I wonder if I could meet new girls and have
fun with them.
After packing the things I needed to bring for the excursion, I went
towards the main hall and saw many people, looking so excited. We were oriented
on the guidelines for the excursions and we were handed our SeaPass card which
I should present when I come back to the ship.
The ship finally docked and along with other guests, I went off the ship. I
knew it would be easier if I go with the other guests having the same
excursions with me. However, it seemed that everyone are with their families.
It would be weird if I suddenly go up to them and travel with them. I kept
looking for possible travel buddies until someone bumped my back. I turned
around and saw a lady.
"I'm so sorry," she apologized. She was about wearing lavender
shirt, blue shorts and brown sandals. She was carrying a backpack with her and
holding a map. It seemed that she was looking at it while walking that's why
she bumped into me. She bowed her head while apologizing for like five times.
As I saw her face, I realized that she's actually pretty.
"It's okay," I told her. "Don't worry about it. I believe
you are a guest too, right? So what excursion are you taking?"
"I'm heading to Sapphire Beach but I'm not sure where I should
start."
Sapphire Beach is my destination too.
"Wow, this must be fate," I said. She looked confused. "I'm
heading towards there too. Wanna come with me?"
"Really?" she smiled and sighed in relief. "That's great! I
thought I would get lost in this first excursion."
We both laughed. So she is traveling alone too. We headed towards the bus
stop and saw other guests who are also waiting for a bus towards Sapphire
beach.
"By the way, I'm Kevin. Kevin Chang," I said.
"Althea Fajardo," she responded. We shook our hands.
"Are you a Filipino?" I asked her. She nodded. "I see. We
have business branches in the Philippines. Filipinos are very hospitable toward
their guests. I visited the country many times already."
"Really? Well, I'm a Filipino but I work in Singapore. So you're a
businessman. You look so young to be one."
I took that as a compliment. Well, many people have the same opinion.
"Yeah, I'm young and I'm single."
She laughed. "You really have to say that?"
"What's the problem with it?"
"Nothing," she said.
After about ten minutes of waiting, the bus arrived and we hoped on. I sat
at the rear part of the bus. Althea sat beside me. "So, you're working in
Singapore as..?"
"I'm a doctor. I'm having my residency training there. I'm on my
vacation leave and next month, I would start my second year of residency."
I was shocked. How old is she? She looked so young to be a doctor!
"Really? I've heard that no anyone could practice in Singapore. One needs
very good credentials to penetrate the medical field in that country. Which
means, you must be good."
"It was hard. I had to take several exams. Study so hard. It's all
because I really wanted to work there. And luckily, I made it. Working there is
just as tough. The expectations are too high. So I decided to have a break and
take this tour."
We continued chatting about various stuffs while on the bus. I knew that
she is still 26 years old, single like me and living alone in Singapore. Based
on our conversation, I could really tell that she is a smart lady. I am amazed
by her.
We arrived at Sapphire Beach after 30 minutes. We both decided to just get
the same cottage to save money. I couldn't believe she could easily trust me
with this trip.
"Let's go swimming!" I told her after placing my bag inside the
cottage.
"Just go ahead. I'm hungry so I'll look for food first," she said
and left the cottage.
I headed towards the sea. It was really sapphire in color and I could see
families enjoying the beach. I decided to do SCUBA diving and snorkeling.
Before going under the sea, I looked for Althea by the beach and saw her taking
pictures while eating some chips. I could say that she really looks pretty and
cute.
I feel blessed to be in this trip and God just gave me another gift...

Sapphire Beach. I believe this is the beach that every ELF should go. After
getting some food, I took several pictures of the beach, which is truly
sapphire blue in color. I saw many families, lovers and friends having a good
time by the beach. I also saw Kevin, the guy I just met. I told myself not to
trust anyone but I felt very comfortable with Kevin. He seemed like a good
person and because of him, I didn't have to get crazy looking at the map.
After eating my food, I decided to take a splash at this so-called Sapphire
sea. I've been part of the Sapphire Blue ocean during the Super Show 4 in
Singapore and this is a new experience. I changed to my swim wear attire and
headed towards the sea. The water is cold but tolerable. The sun is high but I
trust the sun block that I applied when I was still on the cruise ship. I also
tried snorkeling but not SCUBA diving because I haven't trained for it. The
underwater view is so amazing. There are various kinds of fishes with different
colors and the corals are really beautiful. I took some underwater pictures
using my camera for keeps.
As I kept looking underwater, I saw a clownfish and took five pictures of
it. It reminded me of Donghae again. I felt my chest ached. I decided to stop
and went up the boat and then back to the shore. I decided to change my clothes
and just continued taking various pictures at the beach. I also took some
selcas. I wanted to make a travel album when I get back home.
After about an 2 hours of walking around the beach, I headed back to the
cottage. I reviewed the pictures that I took and felt happy. And then I saw the
pictures of the clown fish.
"I'm really crazy," I thought. "Why would a clownfish remind
me of you? Please get off my mind!"
I felt a tear falling through my cheek. I haven't realized that Kevin
arrived at the cottage. He rushed towards me.
"Are you okay? Why are you crying," he asked. He looked
concerned.
I wiped the tear with my hand and smiled. I also turned my camera off. I
didn't want this new found friend to think I'm crazy. "Ah, it's nothing.
Don't worry about it."
"Hey, if you have problems, you can always tell me," he said and
pat my shoulder. "Just think of me as your travel buddy so if you have any
concerns you can share it with me."
I was amazed by this person. Why would he be concerned for me when he just
met me about 3 hours ago? I just smiled at him and said, "Thanks."
I never realized that Kevin was just wearing black tight cycling shorts.
His rectus abdominis muscles caught my eyes. He doesn't really have six-pack
abs but his abdomen is really tones. I was reminded of Kim Ryeowook of Super
Junior when performed "Moves Like Jagger" during SS4. He didn't
realize that I was looking at his abdomen since I hurriedly changed my line of
sight. He turned around to get his clothes and went to the bathroom to change.
I realized that I held my breath for about 30 seconds when I saw his body.
I gasped for air as he went out and felt my heart racing fast. I was shocked at
what I felt but I was sure it was not because of Kevin. It was all because of
Super Junior. I always feel my heart beating fast everytime I could relate
something to Super Junior, much more with Donghae.
After about 15 minutes, Kevin came back. He was already wearing white shirt
and blue pants. We headed towards the Skyline Drive. It was a mountain vein
overlooking beautiful sites like the historic harbor to the south and the
Atlantic to the north. I took several pictures of the sceneries and Kevin
shared some information related to the place. It seemed he really did some
research. This guy never fail to amaze me.
We arrived at the ship around 12 noon and lunch was ready in the ship.
Kevin and I headed directly to the main dining hall because that excursion made
us both hungry. After having lunch, we separated and headed back to our rooms.
I slept for an hour and then headed out again towards my next destination -
Magic Ice. This is so exciting! I saw the group which is heading to the same
destination and we arrived at the area after 15-minute travel.
We were given warm clothing before going inside. After some
acclimatization, we finally got inside. Everything was ice! There were ice
sculptures pirates, shipwrecks, lighthouses and animal life in sub-zero
temperatures. I took pictures on every display, including their descriptions. I
was really happy to see such displays. At the end of the tour, we were guided
to the Ice Bar which served various cold drinks. I ordered a cocktail drink and
it really tasted good! I took some selcas before going out of the museum.
I left the area and headed towards the last excursion for this day. I would
try St. Thomas Skyride. It was a ride 700 feet above sea level towards Paradise
Point. I took several pictures of the panoramic views of the harbor, cruise
ships and downtown Charlotte Amalie. When we arrived to Paradise Point, I went
to various shops and bought some souvenirs. I also bought a new bag which
attracted me so much. I also grabbed some snacks. I never knew traveling would
make me so hungry.
I arrived back at the ship at around 5 in the afternoon. Most of the guests
are already on board. At 6PM, the ship departed the Charlotte Amalie harbor and
is bound to its next destination.
After having a shower, I headed to the dining hall to eat dinner. I tried
looking for Kevin but couldn’t see him. Even though I was too tired for the
trip, I went to night club in deck three. There were many people inside,
dancing and having fun. I went to the drinks area and ordered some drinks.
This night would be the time I have to forget about him...
